Control Philips Hue Lights from Anywhere

Secure remote access through the official Hue cloud. No custom servers, no compromises.

Control Your Lights from Anywhere

Left a light on when you left the house? Want to set the mood before you get home? Need to check if the kids turned off the lights? HueCommand Pro lets you control your Hue lights from cellular data, a different Wi-Fi network, or anywhere with an internet connection.

Your Philips Hue Bridge normally only works on your local network. Remote access extends that control to anywhere in the world — same app, same interface, same speed.

How It Works

HueCommand connects to the official Philips Hue Remote API using OAuth 2.0 with PKCE — the same enterprise-grade authentication standard used by banks and financial institutions.

When you sign in, your Hue account credentials are handled entirely by Philips Hue's authentication servers. HueCommand never sees your password. The app receives a secure token that allows it to communicate with your Bridge through the Hue cloud.

All communication is encrypted end-to-end. Your light commands travel from your phone to the Hue cloud to your Bridge — all over TLS.

No Custom Servers

Some third-party Hue apps route your traffic through their own servers. That means your lighting data — which rooms you have, when you turn lights on and off, your daily patterns — passes through infrastructure you don't control.

HueCommand connects directly to the Philips Hue cloud. No middleman. No additional privacy risk. No third-party server that could go offline and take your remote access with it. Your data flows only between your phone and Signify's official infrastructure.

What You Can Do Remotely

Everything you can do on your local network works remotely:

The remote experience mirrors the local experience. Same controls, same responsiveness, same interface.

Setup

  1. Open HueCommand and go to Settings > Remote Access
  2. Tap Sign in with Philips Hue
  3. Enter your Philips Hue account credentials on the official Hue sign-in page
  4. Grant HueCommand permission to access your Bridge

That's it — remote access works immediately. Leave your home network and you'll see HueCommand automatically switch to remote mode. No port forwarding, no VPN, no router configuration needed.

Pro Feature

Remote access requires a HueCommand Pro subscription. Choose the plan that works for you:
