Philips Hue CIE Color Wheel — Precision Color Control
The full color gamut of your Hue lights, not just a simplified palette.
Beyond the Basic Color Grid
The official Hue app gives you a simplified color palette — a handful of preset swatches and a basic color picker that barely scratches the surface of what your lights can do. HueCommand gives you the full CIE 1931 color space — the actual gamut your Hue lights can produce.
Drag anywhere on the color wheel to select a color. Pinch to zoom in for pixel-level precision. The CIE diagram shows you exactly which colors your specific bulbs support, so you never pick a color your lights can't reproduce.
Color Temperature Control
Not every scene needs vivid color. Sometimes you just want the right shade of white. HueCommand's color temperature slider gives you smooth control from warm 2000K (candlelight amber) to cool 6500K (bright daylight).
Perfect for matching your lighting to the time of day or activity — warm and relaxed for dinner, cool and bright for focused work. The slider maps directly to your bulbs' white spectrum, so what you set is exactly what you get.
Multi-Point Gradients
If you own gradient-capable Hue lights — the Gradient Lightstrip, Play Gradient Light Bar, or Signe Gradient — HueCommand lets you set multiple color points along the strip for flowing color transitions.
Place color stops wherever you want, drag them to adjust position, and watch your light blend smoothly between them. Create sunset effects, ocean waves, or any multi-color gradient you can imagine.
Color Harmony Overlays
Not sure which colors look good together? HueCommand overlays complementary, analogous, and triadic color suggestions directly on the color wheel as you pick.
Select a base color and instantly see which companion colors will create a cohesive, professionally-designed room lighting setup — without guessing or studying color theory. It's like having a lighting designer built into the app.
Real-Time Feedback
Every change you make on the color wheel is sent to your Hue Bridge instantly. There's no "apply" button — as you drag your finger across the color space, your lights update in real time.
See the color on your actual lights as you pick it. If it doesn't look right, keep dragging. This immediate feedback loop makes dialing in the perfect color fast and intuitive.
